If you had a blower, cam, heads, or a combination of those....then yes. You would need a better way to get all those gases out. Otherwise, I personally would say no, unless you want a nicer sounding exhaust, then by all means.

Its the install thats the buzz kill. The install of headers on our trucks takes 6-10hrs depending on experience... That makes the installation cost more expensive than the headers themselves..

If you can tackle the job yourself, then it really depends how much your time is worth to you.

Headers are always better then the stock exhaust manifolds. Headers provide a smoother flow which means better MPG and more HP, even if everything else is stock. Of course the numbers improve as you improve other parts of the equation, headers are a good place to start.

If you don't like the topic then don't respond to it. Alex_pitts is asking for an opinion and some of us don't have a problem helping him. That is what this forum is all about.

I put on a set of Pacesetter long tube headers I got 20rwhp and 25RWTQ , to me they are very much worth it. they were a PITA to put on but I would do it again.

We put Dynatech longtubes on with Highflow Cats (also dynatech) matched with a 2.5" dual tubes and flowmaster 40's. Truck certainly rumbles and runs well.

Total cost was around $1750 bones ($1300 & some change in parts and rest labor/new pipes). Expensive - Yes, worth it - Yes IMO.

You know what they say, for everything else there's MasterCard.
