2004 or 2005?

Hi Guys. My old 1993 F150 with the 4.9L straight six and 240K miles has finally bit the dust. I have my eye on a couple of new trucks, one is a 2004 with 23K miles, the other is a 2005 with only 16K miles. Both are very similarly equipped XLT's. My research here on this site has given me some concern regarding the '04 models. My dilemma is this....the 2004 is about 4 miles from home, the 2005 is about 60 miles. The dealer with the 2004 has already brought the truck in for service, and is performing the clutch pack TSB, doing a brake job and replacing all four tires, and we haven't even started negotiating price yet! Both vehicles are CPO, and will have the 6/75 powertrain warrantee. I really like the way the local dealer is behaving, but I am not sure if the vibration/nibble issues with the 2004 are enough to push me to the 2005.

Thanks!
Dave

i would go with the 2005 model. It is one year newer. I went through the same dilemma two months ago. I had to choose between a 2004 FX4 and a 2005 XLT. I chose the XLT because it was a year newer and i've known a couple of buddies that had 2004 and they have had problems out of them. I dont know how much you are going to give for the trucks but i felt a whole lot more comfortable paying 21K for a truck that was a year and a half old.
