3-4 at 5000 rpm will only occur at WOT (wide open throttle). You will probably never hit 5000 rpm from a 3-4 shift because you will be well over 100 mph (1/4 mile then some). You can leave it or lower it, it won't matter.

It means at WOT (Wide Open Throttle) your truck will shift to fourth from third when it hits 5K RPM...

You have pretty substantial ones to run the +3!

Not sure you have gotten this answered yet and so to make sure you understand. When the setting is at 5000 for the 3-4 shift, that means that the rpms must reach 5000 only at WOT to shift. It will shift at much lower rpms for normal driving. As some one said, 5000 rpms at WOT going to 4th would be over 100 mph. I would back it off to 4750 or 4800 unless you plan to race to 110mph or more.

I think you would meet some resistance, for sure.

Does anyone have any idea about how to stop the torque-converter from locking and unlocking at 78-81 mph?

I have a '04 4.6L STX 4x4 running 93 octane fuel and an Air Force One intake. I seem to be doing pretty good with this setup, but I'm willing to recieve any advice if you guys can offer it.

* 1-2 Shift = 5100
* 2-3 Shift = 5100
* 3-4 Shift = 4700
* Rev Limiter = 5600
* Timing: +1.00
* WOT Fuel = 1.60
* Shift Firmness = 1-2 +15, 2-3 +10, 3-4 +5
* Standard Shift = 1-2 +2, 2-3 +5, 3-4 +5
* Tire Size = 2632 mm

Any opinions?

Looks good to me.. Its pretty much what ive been running... I left the standard shift at the edge presets.. i think it might give you slightly better milage leaving those at lower points.. not sure though..

Ok guys, I got a good one for you. I run lvl 2 with shift points bumped +2,+2,+1. Tire size is 2559.I am running reg 89 gas and get a pinging just off idle by blipping the gas pedal. It is not too bad but it is there. If I return to stock or trans only it is fine. If I give it gas slowly it doesn't ping as bad. Any ideas?

If you have not bumped the timing at all and have not reset the shift points, i would try a different brand of gas. If that does not change things, I would try a highr octane and see what happens. I was running Shell 93 on level 3 with bumped up timing and had no pinging. I filled up with Exxon 93 and it started pinging. Next fillup was with Shell, no pinging. I had used that Exxon before with no problems. They may have had a bad batch or maybe it was the weather.
