Arrow Truck Missing

I just bought a 2006 fx4 supercrew and it seems to be missing. A lot of times when i go around a turn or try merging into traffic i get on the gas a little and it seems to be missing. I got dual flowmasters put on and the only seems i can tell that its missing is because of the exhaust note.. Is anyone else having these problems please help

lol at first I thought your truck was like missing as in you couldnt find it

was it missing before you put on the flowmaster? if its a new truck just take it back and have them fix it on warranty

You better find it quick! Sorry I couldn't resist.

What do you mean you can tell by the exhaust note? Does it get silent for a split second?

Ole' NO... This sounds just like the problem I had. I put TRUE dual exhaust on my 06 SuperCrew lariat 4X4. The truck had like 418 miles on it.Right after I installed the exhaust system I could feel/hear a slight miss under acceleration. I took it back to the dealer... What a nightmare, long story short. They had my truck in three different times for this issue, a total of like 67 days and finally told me the problem was due to my TRUE dual exhaust. They(dealer) cut off my exhaust system, installed a stock exhaust and told me it was fixed... I went and drove the truck. IT WAS NOT fixed. I raised holy hell with them. Finally they replaced my fuel injectors and I now have over 8K miles with no problems. Oh Yeah, BTW I had to pay to replace my exhaust system, and was told to "Y" pipe it(SI/DO muffler). I was informed that IF I came back with a true dual system they would VOID my warranty(They said the true duals removed too much backpressure from the system and actually caused the fuel injector issue) BS. I finally wrote a letter to Ford Customer Relationship Center(CRC) and I'm still waiting for a response....

Don't hold your breath because they never respond. The majority of Ford dealerships are filled with idiots. However, I'd love to go to Quintin's dealership because he actually cares about his work and knows what he is doing.

When you say "getting on the gas a little" are you making it downshift. The throttle by wire hesitation can be bad with these trucks, especially in certain gears at certain speeds. Mine did this and it often felt like a engine miss. I had my pcm updated and it helped some, but I eventually got a EDGE and I haven't felt it since.

Thanks Smoke, I really enjoy my truck.I do alot of Beach driving here on the NC Outer Banks. I go out to Cape Lookout National Seashore about 4-6 times a year. The fishing is excellent. The topper comes in real handy during my trips for a dry, lockable storage area. Thanks again for the comment.
