Gears and lockers

I have a 2005 4x4 automatic. I mostly do highway driving but would like better gearing since I tow and will be getting 35's and a 4-6" lift. I currently have 3.73 LS with the FX4 pckg. I was looking at 4.10 or 4.56 gears and lockers. Something heavy duty with selective on/off application. What size do I need 9.75" ? for the rear; 8" for the front? electric? air? Anyone with any suggestions? Thanks.

4.10s would be a waste, go 4.56s at least.

I'll be honest, I don't have a good solution to your question about lockers for these trucks. The front end is a 8.8" though not a 7"

Will the eaton e-locker fit the front 8.8 and is it suitable for mild off road use (i dont do anything hardcore) ?

I dont know if it's offered but I have run a Detroit locker in the rear of my cherokee (dana 44) for about 5 yrs. and drive on the street ALL the time with ZERO problems. When I regear it will be my first choice for my 06 Screw if its avail. for the rear end. I agree with Thump..no point of waisting your time with 4.10's go at least 4.56 (I run 5.13's with 37's on the cherokee and 5.13's with 40's on my Scrambler) with 35's, probably get you back to stock or close.

I'm sure you'll have front end hub damage soon enough with 35's and lockers. I am pleased with the 9.75, I've put it through a lot with 37's (from high throttle uphill to spinnin dirt to pavement). I have a bad leak in the diff but I just received my gasket and will be replacing it soon and filling up with RP synth. I would like to put a locker in the front end, but definitely do gears if you're going to be offroad, that way your diffs take the damage and not something valuable like ur tcase or tranny, etc. I'd like to put the truetrac up front but it's a gamble with 37's, that will be after I regear.

Thanks for the specs THUMP. and thanks to all for the replies.

So it's 9.75" for the rear and 8.8" for the front. And definitely 4.56 I was also thinking that 4.10 would not be THAT much of a difference for what It will cost to change. Thanks again to ALL.
