theres nothing stopping anyone from doing that. I'm just overly cautious sometimes. THeres nothing stopping anyone from breaking into my house or truck... I just don't leave it open though.

I didn't realize that Virginia had a limit of 7 characters and if you went over they would just truncate.

Ding Ding Ding!! What's the point in blocking it out as everyone who drives by your truck can grab it. Do you block it out when you park at Wal-Mart? Or when you drive around town?

at first glance, but then you remember theres 2 k's in there, and you've got to think about it...

i get a few comments per week at stoplights since im in a major architectural town up here in Bozeman...
its funny, kids get it alot faster than adults- cause they sound it out as they think about it- phonetics... adults look at the overall combination and come up with rocketeer

I just have my first name on my plate. I trade often and this way I can reuse the plate.

is it worth gettin pulled over and getting a ticket for defacing a tag.? your concealing info .. if you get pulled over thats an automatic ticket.. gonna make cops think that the truck or vehicle is stolen from hidding numbers/letters on a tag...

Hmmm, read the post again, he said he blocks out his plate in PICS not on the street. I dont think anyone is stupid enough to do that.

Wow we have some very paranoid bretheren here lol.

FYI Yes in Illinois we have a 7 character limit and my truck does have the Roush supercharger and exhaust but please people keep the ideas rolling. I really want to get the Route 66 plate but you can only use up to 4 characters and a space I beleive.

I came up with SC 54 if you guys can guess what that is.

Too bad Texas won't allow me to have 12 characters! I did have a Deputy Sheriff friend run the plate "Gordo" for me. I filed it away in my email archive. Figured I could contact the guy someday to see if he wanted to 'sell' it to me. But, I probably never will. Ten years ago sure ... now, not so much.

Personalized plates attract unwanted attention as it can easily be read and remembered by police, cameras, people, etc. If you want it, go for it. I prefer to keep mine low profile. I also have a license plate photo blocker that blocks camera flashes at toll boths, traffic lights, etc. As for posting your personal information on the internet, obviously that is not a great idea. Going to Wal-Mart is completely different.
