Im looking on replacing my 2000 f150, with another truck, probably a 2004-2006 f150. My question is, is the 4.6 strong enough to pull a car trailer with a car,I only tow it like once a month, i do plan on adding performance mods, i would just like to hear some opinions,and how much of a power difference is there between the older 4.6 from 1997-2003 and the new 4.6 from 2004-2007? Thanks
what are your reasons for wanting to stick with the 4.6?
4.6L v8 specs
MPG = 15 city 19 highway
HP = 248 @ 4750 rpms
TQ = 294 @ 4000 rpms
5.4L v8 specs
MPG = 14 city 19 highway
HP = 300 @ 5000 rpms
TQ = 365 @ 3750 rpms
4.6L v8 specs

Spend the little bit of extra money and get the 5.4L. I test drove 4.6L and 5.4L before I made my decision. The 5.4 will get a little better gas milage, especially when you pull the trailer. 300hp vs about 240ish. There is a world of difference, in my opinion
