2007 Harley leather shifter handle...

Ok So Im looking at pics of a members new 2007 screw Harley and I notice that it has a leather wrapped shifter. So now Im wondering could this part be a direct swap? I know the Mark Lt's shifter had to be tweaked to fit beacause it functions differently, but how bout this one? Anyone care to provide the part number? Id love to give this a try. Not feeling all the dremeling and hassle of making the LT handle work. Any input is of course greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Luis S

I just test drove a 2007 F150 screw Harley the other day, and it’s the exact same leather wrapped shifter and functions the exact same way as the leather wrapped shifter that’s on the Lincoln Mark LT’s . So it won’t be a direct swap.

Aww crap, really? That sucks. I was hoping for an easier swap. So the switch is hinged then like on the LT? It doesnt push in like the 04-06s right? Bummer. Is there any chance at all to make this work easier than the Lt? ANyone have any ideas?

Later,

Luis S

Yes, the 07 Harley switch is hinged like the Mark LT's. The 07 Harley shifter doesn't push in like the 04-06s F150's. As far as making it work easier than the Mark LT's, the answer is no. Dremeling would still be required.

It's the same for 04-07s models F150's (except obviously the Harley model). The difference is that with the Mark LT/07 Harley shifter mechanism, it has a unique way to push in the shifter to get it out of park compared to the other F150's.
