Thumbs up The BOSS returns!

The new engine due out in 2008 will be called the BOSS. It will be OHC with variable valve timing. No HP or TRQ numbers yet though.

The 302 is not what is going into the F150...that is the Boss crate engine they are going to be selling. The rumor is the Boss going into the F150 will be a 6.2 L. With the 5.7 L coming in the Tundra supposedly putting out 380+ HP, I would look for near 400 coming out of the F150 Boss. Ford knows they need to be near the top in the power department if they want to survive.

I think a lot of things recently have been pointing in the direction of a new lightning coming soon... Maybe a supercharged Boss in it? That would put out some power.

It's good that Ford is introducing a new engine to compete.. but it's bad for us that already have the 5.4 3valve. the aftermarket for this engine blows..

There isn't even a nitrous kit (including controller) for our this engine yet.. We have one company that makes cams for this engine.. Comp Cams, Long tube headers are limited to PaceSetter and DynaTech..... and supercharger prices are still sky high....

That'll be ok though.. when the new engine comes out, I'll still be driving this truck and blowing their doors off...

I'm excited for the future....I love muscle cars, and by the time I have my truck paid off, it sounds like there will plenty of muscle cars to pick from out there as competition for the best one is going to be fierce

Can't wait!

I was watching trucks this weekend and saw them install the Edge programmer with a new production model Edge nitrous controller on a 06 F-150 5.4L. 100 shot of nitrous boosted HP to 400, with exhaust and intake. A little cheaper than a supercharger.

I don't remember what nitrous kit was used with the edge products.
