putting sirius factory unit in my 05

I have an 05 F150. I want to put a sirius factory unit in my truck..is it just to purchase one and plug it in with antenna? I want to take my receiver that I have now and put it in my CTS....and I want a factory ford sirius unit.

I dont see why that wouldnt work. If you lived near me you could try mine out to see if it works before buying.

It will work, I just did it yesterday. There is only one thing special you need to do. There is a separate power plug on the factory sirius unit, and you will need to splice into the power and ground wires of the factory head unit. The wires are the same color as the ones from the sirius unit (I think black with green tracer, and green with violet tracer?). You may not have to do this as my truck is an 04, and did not have the plug for the sirius brain power. I have the 05 CD6/MP3 and mine works great, worked first shot!

To add to this, if anyone has a picture of how the factory sirius mounts in their truck, that would be great, cause right now mine is zip tied with about 15 zip ties to the head unit as I didn have the mounting brackets with mine, just the sirius brain.

Yeah, the brain is separate. It is a fairly simple install, I am still trying to find some pictures, as mine is mounted with zip ties right now to the bottom of the HU, and I want the factory mounts, which did not come with my sirius brain.
