05' tranny sliping help!!

I have a 05' fx4 screw and the tranny slips coming out of first into second when I'm mashing on the gas. This has been a problem almost since new but I never reall had to the time to take care of it. There is only 20k on the truck so its still under warranty, also as its shifting it squeaks or squeals it sounds
loud enough that I can hear it with the windows down over the exhaust. I know that the a/c robs h/p but when I drive the truck with the the a/c off the truck feels like a different truck. How long does it take to fix or replace the tranny at the dealer and is that what you think will have to be done.
Thanks in advance

I had something similar to that happen to me and all it needed was a reprogram of the pcm. Something having to do with the torque converter locking and unlocking at the wrong time. Took 1/2 a day to fix along with the 3rd brake light leak.

Cool

I have an 05 xlt and it did the same thing. I took it in and said i knew of a TSB out for this problem. They said no problem and flashed the pcm, only took about an hour. Now i have that squeal you are speaking of though it only happens at wot at like 5000rpm. Ill be at 35000miles tomarrow and im thinking i just might get the ESP. Good luck man

Is the squeak happening just when the truck is shifting from 1st to 2nd? If so, it is probably just the accesory belt slipping as the engine suddenly slows due to the shift.

I agree on the squeal being the accessory belt, especially if it only happens at WOT shift. Just the belt laying a little rubber on the RPM change. For that get a Goodyear Gatorback or live with it. Do not use any belt dressing. You will just screw things up with that.
