Purchasing extended warranty?

Soo.... I bought a 2004 and it's at 35,500 miles.

Is there an extended warranty from Ford I can buy or not? Is it worth it if I can?

Opinions please!

When I bought my F-150 the guy I bought it from had already purchased the Ford extended warranty and it was very easy to transfer I just went to my local dealer paid a $50.00 transfer fee and it was done. I am sure if you go into your local dealer they can tell you all about the extended warranty plans. I like the idea of extended warranty just for my piece of mind with engine and trans.

I'm not really sure yet. I have the Edge tuner and was thinking about doing more but after a lot of reading here and with my truck being a 4.6L it looks like my options are limited as far as superchargers and stuff go.

So prolly not I guess.

i have the 4.6 too, don't give up just yet. they will come out with more things for the 4.6. if you plan on modding it i might shy away from the warranty since almost anything aftermarket just gives you a harder time trying to get service done.

I' pretty sure that, up until the warranty expiration period, you can still approach your dealership and get the extended warranty. Ask the finance guy at the dealership or drop Ford a line.

I believe it a little bit more expensive than it would have been had you purchased it when purchasing the vehicle, BUT, I believe it's a lot cheaper than purchasing it once the warranty period expires.

I stand to be corrected.

You are correct. Its $100.00 more expensive after 12mos/12k miles and you can't buy it after 36/36. I'm in the business and I plan on putting one on my 05 before the factory warranty is out.

I have never bought an extended warranty on any product and have never regretted it. I have 35,500 on my truck so, in about 500 miles, my truck will probably crater.

I would buy it. You can get a very competitive price from www.fordwarrantys.com. I bought my last one there and they beat my selling dealership's lowest price by $400.00.
