Headlights are dead help!

Okay so Pat and I were working on my push start button which was a success btw. I get ready to leave and I turn my headlights on and they don't turn on. We took the top of the dash above the cluster off, we also pulled the headlight switch assembly out. The only thing we did was poke around in the back of the harness to find a live wire... Does anyone know what color the headlight is so I can pull it out and check does anyone have any ideas?

headlamps

Have you checked the bulbs?

Mine blew out running low beams, high beams, and fog lamps at the same time while trying to shine some light on a late night cookout. No air flow and they over heat. They lasted about an hour. I checked all relays and fuses before I checked the bulbs.

The bulb will be a bluish white color if they are blown.

So it was a blown fuse after all, glad to hear that you found it!

Dude, did you ever figure this one out? Same exact flippin problem here. Just out of the blue, mine stopped working. All fuses fine, taillights, fogs work fine. Flash to pass is fine also. Just no headlights, low or high.

Any response would be appreciated.

I have no idea. I can hear the relay click when I move the switch from off to on. The parking lights work, as do the fogs but the the headlights just won't turn on. Auto or manual, they won't come on.

Flipping the turn stalk lever forward like you normally would to turn the highbeams on for driving does nothing. Yet, when you pull back, as in flash to pass, voila, the lights light up. I've checked every flipping fuse and everything else works!!!

Every time I find a thread with the same issue I'm having, it ends abruptly, no resolution.
I have replaced both main switches, ie... the "turn stalk lever" and the DRL switch assembly. Verified all fuses. Not sure if a relay could be the culprit...?
The low beam lamps are not blued out, and do not appear to be blown [still doesn't explain the hi-beams not working, yet the high-beam flashers do..?

Has anyone solved this problem, or have a solution, or have something I need to check?

Thanks,
Ed

Way to revive an old thread. I have no idea if this could possibly be the culprit, but years ago I had a Cougar and this happened to me. I had to drive home holding the flash to pass down so I had some lights. It ended up being the turn signal stalk, but all the wires behind the stalk had melted and had to be rewired. Don't know if this is the cause of these problems, but thought it might help.
