Fixed my APC tails...

I fixed these finally. What happend before was the resistor that came with the APC tail lights crapped out on one side. So today when I was trying to get the drop in bulb to work with the aftermarket resistors I had a thought. Maybe I could use the aftermarket resistors with the APC tail's. I slapped them on and they work! Woohoo, these lights have the awesome LED blinker and running light pattern, but the only problem is the tumor on the bottom which I can deal with right now. Im stoked...

Your darn right I do.. I am never happy with the look of all the LED tails. But these were my second pair I bought and really love the lighting pattern on them. The only reason I took these off was because they broke. But now these should last a while.

Haha. Good think I'm happy with my HD tails or I'd be doing the same thing.

So the resistor in them broke? How did you go about fixing that? Can you give me a rundown?

In all honesty, I'm on the edge of buying them -- tumor and all. I think I've given up on someone putting out a quality tail lamp that looks OEM.

Ok...the back of the lights have a box which clips in to some wires that flow out of the rear of the light. The box is a resistor, this broke and my blinker was hyper blinking. I ordered some resistors from www.superbrightleds.com and spliced them into the two wires that the box hooked up to. They work great now, and the LED blinking and running pattern is really nice. I dont care about the tumor anymore. Ill post pics of the resistors and the light pattern tomarrow.

OK guys sorry for the wait...Little hungover after last night...Here are some plain pictures of how they look on the truck...

They look really stock and they match my new 3rd brake light perfectly.

This is the stock resistor box I was talking about earlier which broke and I replaced.

More pics in the next post....

I replaced the stock boxes with these 6ohm resistors I purchased from Superbrightleds.com. Which I spliced into the wires coming out of the rear of the lights with the supplied splicers. This fixed my hyper blinking problem...

One more thing with these lights...I read on here that a few people had some problems with these lights crapping out...I fixed that problem by replacing this connecter that came with the APC tails with the stock one.

Here are some pictures of the light patterns the first one is the running lights (there are 11 LEDS) Running if you cant tell is 4 dim, 3 bright, 4 dim pattern.

The last picture is the braking pattern which all three rows are bright...

Hope all this helped in any descisions on buying these lights, I seemed to have fixed all the flaws they had coming from the factory. If you want anymore pics of anything let me know fella's.

First off, great work and don't take my comments negatively. They're just my opinion, wrong or right.

Looks nice and all, but I'm just not feeling the LED pattern as I'm looking for a 4 or 5 LED long pattern by 3 or 4 wide, in a rectangle type pattern.

Also, I'm just not digging the bulge even though it's not as bad as the other taillights.
