Unhappy Turn off lights???

I have the 07' F150 and since I installed my HID's, I've noticed that when I unlock my car at night, the headlights come on. This wasn't a problem with the stock bulbs, but after the HID's were installed, the truck only puts out enough power to start one side ballast.

Sometimes its left, sometimes its right...

I talked to my buddy here at the local shop, and he told me he has the same problem with newer chevrolets...

So my question is:

Can you turn off the headlight option of being on when I disarm my theft system???

I turned the auto headlamp off, but it still comes on when I hit the unlock button at night.

Any Help,
G-Note

I have a set of HIDs in the headlights and fogs. When it's night and I unlock the truck, all four lights came on, only because the auto-headlight feature was on. When it is in the off position, only the headlights come on. However, I do not have the same problem as you do. If I unlock the truck with the headlight switch in either position, all bulbs come on that are designated to. I didn't think about reading the manual simply because I could just walk to the truck door and use the key to open it. Having to do that doesn't bother me, but I'll use the keyless control only when I want to show off the HIDs

Yeah ,these trucks only put out enough amps to turn on a regular headlight. I guess my ballast require more, when the truck is on they work great. If I turn them on once the truck is running, NO Problems...

I did read the owners manual, and it states:

1) Put the key in position 3, hit the unlock button on the remote 3 times.
2) Turn the key off, then hit the unlock button 3 more times.
3) Then turn the key back on and hit it 2 more times...

***DIDN'T WORK***

The rain has been great, but I'm sure you guys needed it more, right Patman03SprCrw...

As for the setup, I bought the 6k kit with the Xenon High beam...
Its an awesome setup, but realistically the high beam looks dim after driving around with the 6K lights...

Its a little extra for the Hi/Low kit, but its worth the money @ $140

Got it on E-Bay :http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HID-X...mZ280037752747

Yah im glad you showed me that link, ill probably contact them about getting a BiXenon kit, that will provide the hi/low. Should have 4 balasts. But for the single low kit, that seems like a pretty good price. Ill just have to see about the BiXenon. Ive been in contact with someone else that sells the BiXenon kit, and seems a bit pricey for my tight college budget, but maybe if its like 250ish i can ask for it as my upcoming 21st birthday, or for christmas.

And yah its been pretty dry around my parts, It was a nice change, but darm its already 90* again everyday. I enjoyed the cool front more then the rain The first night it rained i actually had trouble sleeping b.c its been soooo long since ive heard rain at night

Unhappy

My buddy bought the Dual HID HI/LOW kit for $250, and let me tell you what...

If you adjust the low beam level then the high beam is pointing down, if you adjust the high beam the low beam is in the clouds...

I like my kit, still got the factory look in the high beams, but the low beams look awesome. My only compliant is I did'nt get the upgraded halogen high beam bulbs.

But overall extremely satisfied!!!

Heres the ones my buddy got!!!

Angry Bullpoop!

I stopped by Mac Haik Ford today, and I was told there is no way to turn off the lights in the 06-07 trucks other than to track down the wire for that and cut it.

Someone tell me something better than that, I don't want to cut my harness...

If you dont want to mess around with turning that feature off since your dealership is giving you the run-around anyways, I would suggest running the HID's off of a relay. This way you are pulling power directly from the battery instead of from the headlight circuit. I have had HID kits in my last 3 vehicles which were all newer Fords and this truck was the only one that required the relay since I was having the same problem as you. The place I get them from has a pre-wired relay kit that comes with it so it makes it pretty easy. Hope that helps

Yeah, I don't know what the deal is around Houston, but the dealers around here are all JackA$#'s...

One guy told me bring your truck up here and we will go through it together...

Like I can't read and shi*...

Any way I followed directions to a tee, It's called perimeter lighting, and its on page 109 of your handbook, please turn there now and we will start our session...

HA HA HA, that crap does'nt work...

I guess I need to follow what you said Black3v, Where did you wire the relay at ???

Any Pics on where you wired them in at, or what kind of relay or resistance it is ???

See if you can take pictures of what your ballasts look like and possibly the wiring and I might be able to make you up a harness with relays.
