Edge and start issue

After I added the edge, like for instance when I was just leaving in and out burger, I went to start my truck and it had trouble starting up. I usually just turn the key and it starts right up. This time I had to turn and hold my key for like 15 seconds for it to start up. It was clicking and what not trying to start up, it just wasnt firing up.

Ive had this happen 1 time before but not nearly as bad.

Any thoughts why this could be happening?
Is it because Im now putting 91 octane instead of 87?

Different octane wouldn't make the starter just click. You may actually have a bad starter though.

Fuel pump.....or flooded........many reasons. Ive had mine do that once in a great while even before I got an Edge.

But clicking is different then a no start issue. Is the engine trying to turn over and just not starting, or is the starter just clicking?

I had this same issue on my truck before I got the edge. It still happens occaisionally with the Edge. Also had it with my last vehicle a 2003 mustang gt. Wouldn't happen if it had been sitting for a few hours. But getting gas or running into the grocery store real quick, it would act like the engine wasn't getting enough fuel to turn over.

my vote is battery. The edge showes you what you alternator is putting out and not the capacity of the battery. Do a load test and I think you will probably find its bad.

My vote is also with battery. I also had the exact problem few weeks back and thought it was my Edge program issue but it turned out to be the battery. Start with voltmeter and check your reading from OEM battery first. Click sound is your starter from not enough juice to turn in over to get your truck started....good luck.

I have had an "engine cranks, but won't start" issue occaisionally. I never thought that it was and Edge issue though, the truck would start up after trying two or three times, just embarrassing having a nice, new truck that won't start. I have a female friend who swears that her truck won't start until she unplugs the edge from her truck sometimes. I told her I didn't think that the Edge would have any effect because the tune is still loaded, but she swears by it. Anyone else have this issue?
