Custom Paint Job

Im about to order a 2007 Lariat 4x4 and when its all said and done I want my truck to look a little different. Being a Paramedic and a firefighter is what serving this great country is about. I love it and I want my truck to reflect that. So I want to do a paint job mixing Dark Blue Pearl Metallic, Redfire Metallic, a White Metallic, one hell of a metallic clearcoat to make it shine like the sun, and maybe sometype of flame patern. I want these colors not only because of the flag but also the blue and whites a symbol of EMS and the red is a symbol of the Fire Dept. Guys help me come up with an awesome paint sceme. I don't want crazy to the point of looking like a getto cruiser (hopefully no one will be offended by that statement), but I want it to stand out in a very classy way. And one more thing what color do I need to order the truck or can I order it with a base primer only

i love your idea good luck, and i agree if you cant get it in primer get it in white...

cut the truck in half (vertically wise) do the top half white or the bottom, depending on which way you make the top or bottom either the red or blue you want, and whatever color you havent used make like a foot thick seperation line between the top and bottom half down the side with flames inside of the stripe.

i would order it black so that way u save a lot of money by painting the truck inside the engine bay and other places that need to be taken apart... that way u only have the worry about painting the outside

Sounds like an awesome idea. How about doing red, white, blue from front to back and having each color fade into the other? Alos personally I wouldnt do flames or Maltese cross/Star of life because I imagine it would really cut down on the resale.

Thats what I was thinking about the flames. I wasn't going to put a maltese cross or a Star of Life because I have some screen print for the rear glass. I wander how a mural on the tailgate would look. Don't have a clue what I would put on it but Im sure you guys could think of something if its a good idea. Thanks for all the help guys. More suggestions are welcomed

Keep it clean. Do like Pat said, do the bottom half in one color, with one color dividing, and than the last color on the top half. When I say the bottom half, Im talking about from around the door handles and down.

yeah id dint explain well enough what i meant.

i say from door handles down the blue you want. then from the door handles up untill the bottom of the windows the red you want all the way around the truck (thats about a foot thick stripe) with like black outlined flames throughout it. then from the bottom of the windows up white with like flake in it.
and to add some real custom look to that paintjob, get like a white line-x done.

= Tri-Tone

order a white truck. paint the bottom in your pearl blue - below the body line. then fade the white flames into the red body of the truck...

How about solid black w/ small real fire flame job. Remove all the badges and replace them with gold leaf pinstripe badges. Maybe a gold leaf maltese cross with your engine# on the back window. Easy to remove if you sell the truck. Then a mural on the tailgate.
