Did anyone see the F150 buildup (supercharger, banks exhaust, etc) on 'Trucks' today?

Was that a repeat? Because I don't think I ever seen that episode before. That truck after all was said and done was one bad *** truck.

It was a new episode. They installed a Banks supercharger, exhaust, programmer, etc on a red FX4 Screw. They said the Screw alread had a Donahoe suspension lift and 33 inch all terrian tires on 22 inch wheels. They never gave any specifics on the lift, but judging from it's stance, I'd say it was just Donahoe's replacement coilover shocks that give about 2.5 inches of lift up front. The truck sounded awesome when you can hear the supercharger whine and those 33's frying!!!

I checked out Banks' website and on their front web page info on that particular truck that was shown on 'Trucks' today. www.bankspower.com

I also noticed that the muscular bald guy (his name escapes me) wasn't on the episode today. Was he fired?

I was just looking at the same thing. For the price they are asking, I would choose to go with Whipple's supercharger kit instead without hesisatation.

I watched it as well. I was impressed with the looks of the kit, but I was expecting a lot more from them in horsepower. 335 rear wheel horses when all is said and done, and you've dumped $7200 for parts and probably another grand or more for labor, no thanks. I spent less and have more than doubled my stock horsepower with the Whipple... definately the way to go.

I'll have to TIVO that tommorow morning so I don't forget to watch it! I am kinda interested in those shorty headers they got. Look to be good quality and it comes with a Y-pipe to match up to my magnaflow, and looks like about 18hp/18 torque to the wheels on a N/A engine.....so probably more for a S/C'ed one.

Apples to Apples

Not to start another who is better thread but it is time for a bit of supercharger clarification.

The supercharger itself is a Polished Magnacharger and Banks supplied their intake, tuner and exhaust. Thus you have a Banks Magnacharger... for $7100.
If you subtract the cost of the exhaust and hand held tuner, the price is in the range of a polished Whipple.

POWERWORKS MAGNACHARGER vs. WHIPPLE

Lets talk numbers out the box. I put down 359/400 with the stock rich running pcm flash tune and all limiters on. Whipple owners, what were your out the box numbers? I know of a 333 and a 330 anyone else? My point is that before some of you start to bash a product you need to know and understand what the numbers represent.

This dyno chart is on the whipple website.

I see your point about the comparison of the kits. Man those are some high dollar mods, but you pay to play these days.
