I've read all I can find on here about the AS leveling kit, and I don't remember hearing about people having problems with tire wear after they got an alignment done. My brother and I put his kit on, and then took it to the Ford dealer to get the wheel alignment done. 8000 km later, the outside edges of the tires are worn way down. so he takes it back in, and they say that the lift is the problem, the truck is aligned within spec.
First, do any of you with trucks that are aligned have problems with tire wear?
Second, they are telling me that since the suspension is nearly at full extension with the 2.5AS that the toe changes so rapidly when the tire falls into a hole that the outsides edges bear the full brunt of it ... bump steer I think he said.
Has this happened to any of you?

I think they need to get out a shovel or Bobcat because the BS is getting deep at that dealership. I have put on almost 6,000 miles since my AS and my Nittos are wearing great and look like brand new yet. Take it to another dealer or tireshop that has an alignment rack.
I had my 2" AS kit installed by the dealer and then they did the alignment. I talked with the mechanic that did the alignment and he told me that it was only slightly out due to the kit. He adjusted it back with no problem and I have not seen any abnormal tire wear.
I have close to 8,000 miles since the install.
Your dealer reminds me of the old saying: "If you can't dazzle them with your brilliance, baffle them with your bull****."

Check to make sure your tires arent under inflated. If both the inside and outside edges are wearing you need to bump up the tire pressure. If it is just the outside edge chances are your alignment wasnt done correctly.
I have about 16K on my 2 inch AS with no problems with tire wear. They can align it, they're just looking for excuses. Tire pressure monitoring and regular rotations at every 5K has kept the Goodyears wearing evenly.
I have some abnormal tire wear on the outside of my tires also with the 2.5" Autospring. It happened really quickly too, and it hasnt really gotten any worse. I had an alignment done, and its in check but the outside of the tires are choppy looking and feeling. I will take a pic of it tomorrow to show you. But the problem hasnt gotten pregressively worse in the last 3 months or so. Maybe its the nature of the tire? Meaning maybe the rubber compound and its getting hotter on the outsides. Not sure.
