first i think you should have taken that wheel to a different tire shop and got a second look at it. another thing is you said you put the bent wheel on the rear but your getting a shake in the steering wheel. a shake in the steering wheel indicates front tires not rear. a rear shake is felt in the seat. not sticking up for the other guy or anything just my opinion

Thanks for your unbiased input :-) There really is no need to have a second opinion given the fact that one can clearly see that there is a “flat” spot on the lower inside edge of the rim as it is spinning. Not flat enough to really feel, but flat enough to see when spun.

I agree, a vibration in the steering wheel would indicate something in the front of the truck, but given the rim is actually deformed, I think it’s safe to assume it would be noticed all over. This assumption is also shared by my friend at Ford, provided of course the deformation is enough to be seen while spinning. I asked the tech (at the tire place) if he though it would be noticeable on the road and he gave a resounding yes! No question.

Fortunately my friend at Ford can get me a refurb’ed rim for $225. Not really fair, but such is life. I believe what comes around goes around.

At this point, I probably should have anted up and got some aftermarket rims like those on your FX!

While I'd be hacked off too... this isn't the place for this type of thing. I may let a company slide -- as I have recently -- but, due to liability reasons, I will not allow individual names and such.

Again, I'd be really hot about the situation too but, I simply can't let this stay in here...
