Mod Suggestions - 2005 F-150 Screw 4x4

Hey guys - I have a 2005 F-150 Screw 4x4. It is pretty stock except for the westin signature series step rails, the K&N Air Filter, and the Flowmaster exhaust with 3" Silverline tips. I use what I call the "change method" to get goodies for tha truck. I have an old pretzel jug I save change in - once its full, I cash out and by goodies for the truck.... This time I scraped together right about $250.00 - what do YOU suggest I get for my baby? TIA for the suggestions.

Save $60-100 more and get an Edge. Best thing I have put on her so far.

Get the edge. Very few bolts give you the instant satisfaction of the edge.

Service Dept said this WILL void my factory 3yr/36,000 mile warranty so the edge is a no go for about another 20,000 miles..... what other goodies can you suggest?

eh, if you're willing to take a good chance, go ahead with the Edge anyways! ford will only void the warranty the engine if the edge manages to break it... so far thats a pretty safe bet- don't think i've read any posts in here about major issues... other than the edge:
reindex the wiper arms (free!)
silverstar headlight/foglight bulbs ($20 apiece)
low profile bug guard
4x4 tailgate emblem ($20ish)
tonneau cover ($200 and up)
window tint
remote start

Thanks man - where is a good spot to get some good emblems? The F-150 badge on my tailgate is faded bad - some of the black lettering is gone completely...and now that im thinking about it - how does one replace that? Just pull it off and stick a new one on? Sorry if these seem like dumb ?'s - this is the first truck I have owned that I actually give a *&^% about so Im new to adding mods, etc.

well, the stock emblems are a warrantable item- take it to ford, say you want new emblems as the black is coming out-sometimes they have em in stock, and can change em on the spot- if not, have em order them and call you when they come in- at that point it takes about 10 mins to switch em all out! (i had all three of mine replaced a month ago)... you can get new emblems to balance out the other side of the tailgate (ie i have an FX4 emblem on mine- RockPick and a few others have a 4x4 emblem on theirs- Rockpick has a good 20 page thread on the one hes got) they are stock Ford parts from other vehicles...the fx4 is from the expedition, the 4x4 from the sport trac or something like that... heres a pic of mine...

heres a pic of RockPick's:

For the Edge you could program your truck and then unprogram it anytime you needed to take it in for service.

True, but at this point I could also just get other mods. The truck only has 11,000 miles on it and as I said before, is pretty well stock. I dont have mudflaps, no cool emblems , no tricked headlights, etc. I have been considering LT handles also since my truck is silver.... just trying to get some different ideas from everyone. I really like those emblems u guys did on the tailgates.... Im def. gonna have to do that.

Edge for sure!!! Our trucks are WAY to heavy and slow without the edge!!! All you need to do is return your tuning to stock befor you take it to the dealer and how will they know you have the edge??

Im not arguing the fact that they will know, or that the edge is an excellent mod... I just could care less if my 4x4 truck is fast honestly. I didn't buy it to race If I wanted to go fast I woulda bought a 'stang or somethin.... I'm sure this helps other aspects of the truck as well but I guess Im just more concerned with looks now. I will more than likely wait until after the warranty to install the edge.

Sell your signature series step rails and buy a set of platinum series.. Not sure how far north you are in IL, but in WI the signature series would only look good for about 1 winter.
If the Edge is out (which is worth it), maybe a leveling kit? Got any pics of your truck?
