When I'm shopping I usually try to spec them out on www.carsdirect.com and www.edmunds.com to see if the pricing is fair. I bought a new 03 Mountaineer through Carsdirect via a dealer in Long Beach, CA and had it delivered to N. Cal. No local dealer (within 150miles) was willing to match the price so they lost the sale. Looks like a good deal. Offer them $1000 less and see what they do. If you are trading a car in, dont let them screw you to make up the difference. Like roadawg said, check www.edmunds.com for invoice price and what others are paying in your area.
