Factory Splash guards?

Do the flat factory splash guards, the ones with the Ford Logo on them require any drilling?

I got some of these today, so I am just wondering.

Thanks.

YES...one hole per guard underneath the fender well. Fairly easy and minutes to install. Instructions say to remove tire to install...I have a 4x4 and didn't have to. Had to remove the front splash guards for bigger tires.

Good Luck!

I installed mine, but I didn't do any drilling. Like WRK4GAS said the instructions say you need to dill one hole in each wheel well. I didn't install that clip/screw because I didn't want to drill a hole. They have been on my truck for a couple months now with no problem. They fit tight and you don't know there is a screw missing because it's in the wheel well.

IF you get the right ones from the dealer!
They sold me the wrong ones, the rear screw holes did not fit, they came with no clips for the screws. I bought 1/4 inch screws nuts and lock washers and used Duplicolor touch-up paint! they came out ok.

PS-the ones they sold me needed no drilling.

I had the ones that don't require drilling and one of the rear ones broke while driving the other day! They seem too wide for the small mounting area.

The part # I have on my invoice is....E7TZ-16A550-A.

Here's the link to the ones I ordered....how hard is it to install these?

http://www.ford-parts-direct.com/pro...TOKEN=33187500

I have a friend I work with her husband works in the parts department at a local Ford dealership here in town.

Before ordering he asked me for my VIN number so he could look up what kind of truck I had. In the reply email I told him the VIN number and also told that I had a '05 Flareside Scab truck.

So hopefully he was able to look in his 'puter and ordered the right ones.

I appreciate the feedback fellas.

Those are just the regular flat ford splash guards.

You should not have to drill anything, other than maybe drilling a hole in the splash guard itself to line it up with the existing screws that are already on your truck.

The splash guards that I believe everyone else is referring to are the molded splash guards. I also have the molded splash guards on my truck. I just like the looks of them better.

These are the molded splash guards.

I did the same and they have stayed on perfectly and look great!

THANKS for the compliments! I have the molded Splash Guards and agree with Mister B...looks great and fitment is perfect.

TonkaTruck33...1200 for PA Body Lift, PA Gap Guards, and Leveling Kit including labor. Went to a 4x4 shop to get it done so they ordered all the parts.

FYI...IF you guys get 33s or bigger tires in the near future, front splash guards have to come off as per the 4x4 shop. I didn't listen, put them back on and found out the hard way. They will come off at full lock and it ain't pretty.

WRK4GAS the look of your truck to me is better than any newer body style that will ever come out in the future. To me it just looks that good, I mean it just has a look that would not grow or look old.

My goal is to get my truck to look like yours, although mine is not a 4x4.

Keep it clean for me will ya?

Hey WRK4GAS is this the same tire that you have on your truck?

What size are your rims?

I am looking into getting these soon.
