Lights behind the grille

Who's got them? Post pics of them and how they are mounted also. I'd like to see how visible they are behind the grille without them on. I'm wanting to do this but it will be pretty pointless with the FX4 grille. Anyone switched their FX4 grille out with something else? I don't want to have to cut. Just a simple swap if I'm going to change.

this is on an 03 i dont really know what the header panel deal looks like on the 04. they just bolt on after i drilled the holes and to remove them i have to take off the whole grille surround but i know how to do it so it only take like 5 min.

by the way my bumper is busted cause i hit a deer because they are really thick in town its rediculous new one should be here this week.

etrevino, does the FX4 grille just cause too much obstruction of the light like I'm thinking? Thanks guys for your posts! Any more?

it cause a good amount of obstruction, they are more a cosmetic mod then practical if you were to get stronger lights then you would get more out of it. I got mine at walmart for like 30-40. I didn't use the relay either and fatherford said they'd be brighter if i wired the relay in...Mine are hellas i think they are like 55 watts.

thais0n, post pics when you get them. Did you paint your chrome Lariat grille surround?

I'm wanting some behind the grille for more light so I guess I'll have to either swap out an XLT grille or a billet that doesn't require cutting. Any more suggestions?

My buddy and i built some brackets and put some lights behind my grill. I will get some pics tonight and post them tomorrow. I think they look sick and have gotten a lot of compliments on them.

I've always wanted to mount some Hella Black Magic lights behind my grille ... by the cost of the lights alone has kept me on the bench.

On a similar subject ... I'd really like Ford to make a "Pony Package" grille light option for the F-150 ... like they have for the Mustang. These are just the right size! http://www.usmobil.de/assets/images/...ackage0005.JPG

I want to get the black magics also. Man they are way high. I think they were cheaper when they first came out though.

I will post pics as soon as I can....right now I am working about 17 hours a day, so the last thing on my mind when I get home is taking pics of the truck. I just want to sleep. But I have Saturday free, so I will get it washed up and get some good pics.

I had them on my 98 and it looked sweet, but I too have been thinking about how they could work behind the fx4 grille. What I plan on doing is to make a bracket similar to etrevino's but use slim lights that would line up with the grille on either side of the ford emblem.
