Angry P2106

Ok, I did a search on this code, and it kinda helped, but no one really has what I have going on.
-Only after I drive for a couple hours straight do the lights come on.
-The first ones to come on are the ABS and the little wrench, then the chk. engine.
-After I turn the engine off, the ABS and wrench go out. So the only thing that the scanner will pick up is the code for the chk. engine which is P2106.
If I dont mess with it, the check engine light will go out on its own after awhile. But, there is no memory of this code which is why I paid FORD $75 for nothing to scan it. This last time I had autozone scan it while the light was still on, then they cleared it only to come back on. Now, my warranty is done so that sucks. Im going to contact Ford tomorrow and see what I can do. In the meanwhile, any input would be great. Thanks.

Dtc Code P2106

I am getting the same code with my 04 F150...what did you have to replace to correct this problem?

I have had the throttle body replaced once already and the stealership said there was nothing wrong with my truck.

Thanks!

Well, after getting into a huge discussion with the lack of service manager, I finally got the truck in when the light was still on. It was the throttle position sensor (tps sensor). Truck is fine now. Alittle late though, I dont have a warranty anymore so it was a couple hundies $$ if I remember correctly. Hope this helps. Im still haveing a problem with my ABS light though. After long drives, around the 3.5 hour mark, the light goes on. After turning the truck off though, it goes out. Im not too worried about that.

Last time I had the ABS, wrench, and Check Engine light come on, it was a bad alternator. Wasn't an F150 but might be worth checking out...

Pretty serious problem as I can't drive my truck for 2 minutes without going into failsafe mode which = no power. Kinda funny I posted here and now I have this problem. I have this exact problem, however, I just replaced the TPS sensor and it still happens. It only happens a few minutes after driving from around 47mph-55mph. Did you guys replace the entire throttle body or the TPS sensor only? Even after shutting the truck off the damn ABS light stays on.

This link is to a tsb for the 5.4L 3v TSB. If anyone is a member of FTE can you copy and paste the full TSB so I have an idea of what it could be. I'm trying to register there now.

ALSO, is the butterfly supposed to be at an angle and not perfectly sealed. I'm assuming thats the idle position, but the butterfly is slightly tilted by default. This is a pic of how it sits:

Well Quintin informed me swapping the TPS was a waste of money because the older programming I currently have does not communicate well with it. So I need to have it reprogrammed. I will try disconnecting the battery, will also try reprogramming the PCM.

If you have the tools to do it, I would definetly try it, after the battery since thats a whole lot easier. I had a dealer do mine, I know its very simple but I didnt have the time at the time. I have had absolutly no problems with mine since and have been pleased....my ****** ABS light still comes on though after about two hours of straight driving. Ive learned to live with it though.

you know josiah, i just re-read your original post, and i just realized you already replaced the sensor. At Ford, they told me that I had to reflash the PCM. That will probably solve your problem.

Fordabbits, thanks. I have no way to disable the ABS light, it's constantly on. I'm taking it in, in the morning. I will let you know how the computer reflash goes, I already replaced my TPS sensor. What did you pay for the computer reflash?
