Hate to admit it but I tried one. I had the Airaid "Poweraid" TBS for about 6 weeks. Ended up selling it for $40 bucks (so I lost like $60).
A) The whistle sound drove me up the freaking wall after about 2 days.
B) I never dynoed the truck with it on but the butt dyno registered a drop in the mid to upper end if anything.
C) Over the time I had it my mileage stayed exactly the same, no changes.
The mods I had at the time were a tuner (went thru the Hypertech, Superchips and then settled on the Edge) and an Airaid intake. I also had the tonneau on so the MPG data is relatively constant.
Best advice, don't bother. Take the hundred bucks and buy a Optima battery at Costco or something that will make a difference for your truck.

I had one on my '97, and the whistle was awful, so I used some silicone gasket maker and it went away, but I swear it performed worse with it in.
Just a paper-weight. A really expensive, cool-looking paper-weight.
