2007 FX4 Color Choices - Request opinions

Hello everyone,
Trying to decide color choices on ordering 2007 FX4. It pretty much comes down to:

first choice: Dark Blue Pearl or Black (Maybe two-tone with DSG)
second choice: Silver/DSG
third choice: Red/DSG

Will Black/DSG be my biggest headache for needing to be cleaned most often? I would think that Silver/DSG would be the least cleaning maintenance of the group listed.

Black Leather interior with FX4 Luxury Package is the interior, no question. Any opinions about my color choices, like easiest to keep clean, etc.
Thanks,
JSB

Talking

Go with silver and DSG. Looks fantastic, and of those choices it should be the easiest to maintain.

I'll put my vote in for the all black FX4 w/ the fx4-plus black leather interior.....that's what i just ordered though so i'm biased.

Some of those other color combos are quite nice as well...the black w/ dsg is quite nice too. I also like the red w/ dsg....that looks surpisingly good in person too.
Only my opinion but i don't find the upkeep of all black exterior too much worse than other colors....in the end it never influenced my color choice. If black is sharing your top spot, i'd run with it. If your going w/ 20's i've found that the slightly 'lighter/brighter' shade to the 6 spoke rims
looks outstanding with all black paint job.

If you like detailing, get the black. If you don't, do not get black.

I usually lean towards blue, but after seeing the new Dark Blue Pearlcoat in person I wasn't all that impressed.

If it's available as a color on the FX4 I'd go with the new Redfire Metallic -- I saw it on a FX2 and think it looks awesome on this bodystyle!

After several Black F-150's, I'll never go there again. They look awesome when clean, but they are a lot of work to keep that way.

Second worst color has to be white. It's like a blank canvass that gets smeared with road tar, dirt and bugs.

The best looking colors (in my humble opinion) are True Blue Metallic and Redfire (see my galleries for samples of both). I would class them as medium duty maintenance colors (to include green).

The Browns (Golds) and Silvers are low maintenance, but really don't offer that "bling bling" look. They are the "Year End Model Clearance" colors as they tend to be the only vehicles left on the lots.

......sure thing, but i doubt i'll have it before early December , i guess they aren't going to start building until late Oct early Nov.

Maybe my standards are lower than others but the extra effort has never been too bad w/ the black....it's there but maybe i'm not bothered too much by it & i do consulting work on drilling rigs so my trucks get beyond muddy from time to time.

I will say that that redfire metallic sounds interesting, afaik it's an fx4 color too....have not seen it in person though just the renderings on ford's US site.

Unhappy Continuing 07 FX4 Color Decision Saga.......

Hey, Mr. Andy,
Is your's being built late year because of the FX4 Luxury option, or some other late availability option? Or some other reason?

As you know, it rains alot here in NW Oregon, but I garage every night, just not during the work day. Don't go off road, and generally would wash by no touch car wash, or by hand if necessary, but wash by hand only once a month or less often. I would have detail done professionally once a year. So a question for you black owners: Would you think that I would have to wash weekly by hand in a rainy environment like mine? And just as often waxing? I don't have any experience waxing, but have been given an orbital waxing machine that is still new in the box. I would want this thing to look as good as possible. I do keep my current truck clean and looking good, both inside and out.

Well, as for color decision:
I went out to two dealerships to take a look at the FX4 colors and to see some actual 07 F150's for the first time in person. Only colors available for 07 FX4 are Oxford White, Black, Dark Shadow Grey Metallic, Bright Red (not Redfire Metallic), Dark Blue Pearl Metallic, and Silver Metallic, all with two-tone DSG lower optional. I did see the True Blue Metallic, and that is a great color, but unfortunately not available for 07 FX4. The Black, of course, looked really good (especially with the red tail-lamps and red FX4 Decals), as did the Dark Blue Pearl Metallic and the Dark Shadow Grey. Bright Red's a great color too, but down there a ways on my list. Silver to me just looks like a low maintenance compromise, and I hate white. To make things tougher, I already have an everyday driver lighter blue color Ranger that I've drove everyday since 1995 that I intend to keep for everday use because of the higher gas mileage. I know it's a problem that many might like to have, but I still can't decide between blue, black, or DSG. Another blue truck to make two in the stable, or a black truck that is a pain to maintain.

If I was going to do it again, I think I would go with the Dark Stone or Dark Shadow Grey. Lots of luster without showing every little f'ing speck of dirt.
