Well I did a search and found that I am not the only person that has had the grinding noise like the truck is trying to go in 4WD. All post were very similar complaints and seemed to be fixed by using the TSB for the Intermitant IWE noise. I printed out all the post and the TSB and took it to the service manager and was told that they can not do any work until they witness it. Surprise, surprise it will not repeat with them in truck. He also stated that the TSB does not apply to my truck and that the TSB just states to reset codes even though the first action states to replace the IWE solonoid. I called the Ford customer service line and was told they can not do anything and said the dealer is right. I now am waiting to see what the service director since he is stating the TSB does not apply to my truck. For those of you that had this repaired how did you get the dealer to repair it since mine does not want to touch it without hearing it.

 

well all that I can say is be patient... it only took four times to the dealer to get mine fixed.... mind you it was not the dealer I bought my truck from.... But I think I have finally got mine fixed after printing everything that I could from this web site to the dealer and giving it to the service manager.... needless to say they replace both IWE and the control module for them... Since then no problems... I can say the problem lies in there somewhere... I dont understand why they dont do a recall on them
