Raced an 06' Ram Hemi...

My buddy bought a new Ram with the Hemi. He has always made fun of me adding performance upgrades to my truck and challenged that his new stock Hemi would "smoke" my F150.

We did two approximately 1/4 mile runs from a dead stop. I won by almost 2 truck lengths both times. He complained that he couldn't get traction but my rubber marks where atleast 6' longer and alot darker (before I got the edge I couldn't brake the tires loose so I was a little shocked when I layed almost 15' of rubber during both of the runs).

This is the first time I have ever raced my truck which is an 04' screw w/5.4 and 3.55ls. I have added a Airaid Jr. intake, corsa exhaust, and recently the EDGE. I am also running the heavy 285 grapplers.

Just thought I would share, as I was pretty shocked at the outcome.

I assume you are running a custom Level 3. What are your settings?

I have a stock 05 screw, and cannot even "squeak" my tires, much less spin them. It would be hard to imagine the Edge and a little better intake making that much difference....would it?

The 87 tune does not make that much difference, but the 91 tune makes you not want to ever take it off. Yes, it makes that much difference.

Puting one over a '06 Hemi by almost 2 truck lengths is not an ordinary win/kill, it's a bitch slapping!

What other performance/engine mods do you have?

Just keep in mind, beating a stock Dodge by 2 truck lengths is not something to brag about. Notice I said stock. The minute any buddy of yours with a different brand of truck add's some mods, your done. I'm just glad my truck is reliable and does what I need it to do without any questions asked.

Just my .02

Ok while we are on this topic of the edge...what would be the optimum power setting on it?

This is not true so much... I had a race with a hemi dodge at the track. His mods were intake and exhaust, my mods were same plus a tuner and I would smoke him by .2 every time which was about 1 length at the end. For the dodge to have 45 more hp and a 5 speed tranny, I would say these trucks can hold their own. It is amazing what a tuner can do on these beasts

A friend here at work has a stock 06 Lariat running the 93 octane, he has timing at +2.0, fuel at +1.8, shift pressure at +18. It runs very well. Mine is not that agressive. I have timing at 1.75, fuel 1.6, shift pressure +6.
