Need Advice on Driving Lights

Ok Guys,
I don't know what (driving or fog) lights to get for my brush guard..

Should I get Black or Chrome, 5" or 6" round

give me some input Guys, what do you think will look good on my truck??

I got a good deal on ebay for some black PIAA 520 Crystal Ion fog lights for $140. I love the look of them. Justin (BalogUK) has some 520's fog and driving on his truck's WAAG gaurd and they look great. Here's a link to his gallery:

https://www.f150online.com/galleries....cfm?gnum=5296

I can't say they are the best lamps since I havn't seen or read any comparisons. I would go with the black since your grill gaurd is black. I think it'll look odd having chrome on black. Chrome would sort of disappear into your billet grill. The fogs have a wide flood beam that don't have the reach a driving light would have so i don't think you'll want that type.

Hopefully someone will chime in here with better advice.

okay im here... as impact9 has shared, im running a set of PIAA Plasma Ion Fogs, and a set of Plasma Ion Driving lights... id go with black too!
driving lights...they are definitely low angle spots...they will light up a roadwidth 2-300yrd+ downfield.. the fogs are super wide angle- i use them whenever im in low visibility on the back roads- (so all the time) since i can light up the shoulders...their range, when aimed correctly is from about 5' in front of your truck to about 30-40' they are both bright as day- plasma ion is definitely a yellow beam but as they advertise, they shine thru anything- i've used them in near blizzard conditions, and it keeps the road illuminated, where low beams reflect off the falling snow...
here are a couple shots that i have of them- im mounted F D D F

Piaa 520 and 525
Hella daylighters and slimlighters
Hella black magic

I'm with you on black lights.. Chrome is out....

I like the Piaa 520, will see if I can find a set local to look at..... most stores around here have Hella and KC products....

I would go with what is on my rig...PIAA 525's. These are the best. They are an awesome setup and they work flawlessly. Whether the High Beams are on or the Fogs (ambers) are on, they both light up beautifully. I also love the fact of the BLUE when the lights are not on at all.

This is how they appear when they are off:

And with just fogs on...

Keep in mind, these photos don't do it justice...

Justin does the WAAG come with 4 mounting holes or did you have to add those? I've got a T&H being delivered tuesday and I think it comes with just 2 mounting holes. If the T&H does I think i'll get a smaller set of far reaching driving lights and install them inverted on the same mounts.

Love my PIAA 520 SMR Series Driving Lights

Looks a millian dollars, has an amazing/intense beam, relatively easy installation/set up/wiring for the novice, very well constructed, has a solid protective sheild and is available in either the chrome or the black.

PIAA's cunstomer service is A1 too. I've heard several people purchase PIAA driving lights, have a problem from not working down the track to cracking the lense cover and PIAA have ALWAYS replaced the whole asembly. Yeah, you pay a little more, but the product - AND the company that stands behind their product - is second to none.

'nuff said!

PS: The BLACK is $194.95 shipped and the CHROME is $269.95 shipped HERE

I got pulled over at the lake twice last night for my god damn spotlight (was using it looking for a campsite) but I use it as a driving light, lights the road up beautifully. Below are the only pics I have of them unfortunately. They are very bright, if you've been pulled over you know. Funny thing is the cop got me out of my truck, asked me why I have the spotlight and why my info is coming up as blocked by the local PD He was an ***, calling me suspicious for having a police spotlight and having blocked registration info as if I was an officer myself. Awesome is what I say to that.

The best thing about the light is it's moveable, I can pan left to right and tilt up and down. There are a few spots I can't reach or make it awkward to reach because the A-pillar is tilted but it works great other than that. Almost hit a huge german shephard the other night as well, if it wasn't for this light I'm not sure I would have seen him soon enough to stop (takes forever to slow this beast down).

You'll have to take a raincheck bro, my camera is out of commission. The install wasn't too difficult, and it looks great installed if you ask me. You have to drill a 1/2" hole (the difficult part) and 2 5/8" holes into your a-pillar at an angle. I almost broke my wrist drilling that as it caught an edge at high speed (the drill was an old drill, the only drill I had that could fit the 1/2" bit). You're drilling into the actual metal and painted surface. The drill was a 1 speed drill and accidentally hit autopilot, right before it caught an edge (I caught the edge about 100 times and had to back out of it and redrill). Drill kept spinning and wrapping the cable up in the handle, I thought quick and pulled the plug...scared the hell out of me (it was an electric, very high torque drill). However, don't get me wrong because it's really not that difficult, I'm just going through the numerous headaches...I can go into further detail if you really want to install it.
