seatbelt reminder!!! (i already did a search)

2006 f150, tries the owners manual way of disabling the seatbelt reminder and it does not work.

After the last lock-unlock what do you do? Start the truck, re-close the belt? take the key out?
I've tried all of this and it will not work.

ANY HELP?????

Thanks

The manual worked for me. Try it again if you can stand it, it's a pain in the ars. If not dress the wife or girlie friend up and send her to the stealer to play stupid

LMAO@cut the wire ....here is the way to do it...but you have to follow the directions exactly or it wont work...

The parking brake is set.
The truck/car is in Park (automatic), Neutral (manual).
The ignition is OFF.
All doors are closed.
The driver's safety belt is un-buckled.
The parking and headlights are OFF.
Then follow these 9 steps:

Turn the ignition switch to ON, but DO NOT START.
Wait for the safety belt warning light to go OFF(1-2 minutes).
Steps 3-5 MUST be completed within 60 seconds!

Buckle, then un-buckle the driver's safety belt 3 times, ending with the belt un-buckled.
Turn on the headlights, turn off the headlights.
Buckle, then un-buckle the driver's safety belt 3 times, ending with the belt un-buckled.
After step 5, th e Safety Belt Warning Light will be turned on for 3 seconds.

Within 7 seconds of the safety belt warning light turning OFF, buckle then un-buckle the safety belt.
This will disable the Belt Minder if it is currently enabled, or enable the Belt Minder if it is currently disabled.

Confirmation of the disabling of the Belt Minder is provided by flashing the safety belt warning light 4 times per seconds for 3 seconds.
Confirmation of the enabling of the Belt Minder is provided by flashing the safety belt warning light 4 times per seconds for 3 seconds, followed by 3 seconds with the safety belt light off, then followed by flashing the safety belt light 4 times per second for 3 seconds again.
After confirmation, the deactivation/activation of the Belt Minder procedure is complete.

If that doesn't work try this. This one worked for me.

I tried that on my 05 and it didn't work...
what I did was:

The parking brake is set.
The truck/car is in Park (automatic), Neutral (manual).
The ignition is OFF.
All doors are closed.
The driver's safety belt is un-buckled.
The parking and headlights are OFF.
Then follow these 9 steps:

Turn the ignition switch to ON, but DO NOT START.
Wait for the safety belt warning light to go OFF(1-2 minutes).
Steps 3-5 MUST be completed within 50 seconds!
buckle and unbuckle 9 times light thn flashes quickly and within 7 secs buckle unbuckle one more time.
you gotta do that for each side too but it was the only way mine

If that doesn't work get out a gun and shot it.

If it still doesn't work your not holding your mouth right.

Really, if it's still not working your not doing the steps right or fast enough. Keep trying.

The procedure in the manual worked fine on my F150. When I followed the similar procedure for my mom's '05 Expedition it never worked. The dealer couldn't get it to work either.
