X-Plan PINs are not transferrable. Read the rules:

From: https://www.fordpartner.com/partnerw...ow_it_works.do

Appropriate X-Plan Use

Eligible Plan participants will be required to provide proof of identification when they visit their local dealership. It is in direct violation of the program rules to generate a PIN for an individual not eligible for the Plan. In addition, accepting money or gifts in connection with providing someone a PIN is strictly prohibited. Violations of these rules will result in suspension of X-Plan eligibility for the individual and partner company and may result in further penalties as deemed appropriate by the Company

The following items are considered appropriate proof of identity.

· For employees of eligible partner companies, you must provide a recent pay stub, company I.D. or W-2 (note: business cards will not be accepted as proof of employment)

· For members of the Experimental Aviation Association only, membership cards must be used for proof of membership and should indicate 1 yr. minimum membership.

· For members of the Disabled American Veterans Association only, membership cards must be used for proof of membership.

· For members of the Society of Hispanic MBAs only, membership cards must be used for proof of membership.

Any Ford employee can issue an X plan to anyone they like. That is why it is called the FRIENDS AND NEIGHBOR PROGRAM. All of the above is required if you want to generate a pin number not use one. X plan is available to Friends and Neighbors of any Ford employee willing to give them out. A plan is reserved for the employee's family. I had 4 A plans, and 8 X plans available to use this year. I give X plans to anyone who wants them, I already gave all 8 of mine out.

Interesting. Ford describes the X-Plan as being independent of Ford employees; it's a buying program reserved for partner companies. Employees aren't even elligible for the X-Plan, according to the rules. =

X Plan Eligibility

Who's Eligible?

Employees (full-time, part-time and contract)/ retirees of eligible partner companies and their spouses are allowed to generate up to two (2) PINs per year. Each PIN may be used towards the purchase of a new vehicle under the Plan within 12 months of the date of PIN generation.

The following criteria identify the minimum requirements for a partner company's eligibility. Actual participation in the Plan is at the sole discretion of Ford Motor Company and is contingent on the partner company's continued relationship with Ford Motor Company, and will stay in effect until terminated by either party upon thirty (30) days prior written notice provided to the other party. Ford Motor Company may terminate this program upon thirty (30) days notice at its sole discretion.

· Tier 1 Suppliers

· Business partners providing strategic services on behalf of the Company and having a minimum of 50 employees

· Fleet partners as recommended by the Fleet Dept. National Account Manager

· Selected colleges and universities where Ford Motor Company recruits.

· Organizations with a special relationship to Ford.

o Experimental Aviation Association (1 year minimum membership required)

o Disabled American Veterans

o Society of Hispanic MBAs

Who's Not?
· Government employees and officials whose use of the Plan may be construed as influencing a public official.
· Employees of Ford, Lincoln-Mercury, Jaguar, Mazda, Land Rover, or Volvo dealerships..

Friends and Neighbors Program

The New Vehicle Purchase Plan for Friends and Neighbors (X-Plan) is offered by the Ford Motor Company to encourage employees and retirees to promote Ford Motor Company products among their friends and neighbors. This program offers exclusive discount pricing on certain Ford Motor Company products.

Ford Motor Company Friends and Neighbors

Through the X-Plan, Ford Motor Company employees and retirees are allocated four personal identification numbers (PINs) per year that they many give to eligible friends and neighbors to purchase discounted vehicles. Friends and neighbors are eligible for the X-Plan if they are identified and sponsored by a Ford Motor Company employee or retiree before visiting a dealership. Friends and neighbors wishing to participate in the X-Plan may not discuss a retail purchase of a vehicle with a dealer prior to applying for an X-Plan.

For additional information on the X-Plan, friends and neighbors should contact any Ford Motor Company employee or retiree.

Agreeing. I posted the information from the X-Plan site. Then, I posted the information from the Friends & Neighbors site. Just gives a more complete conversation -- should be more helpful for people if the thread ever comes up in a search.

If you're not a Ford Employee, you can't transfer X-Plan PINs. If you're a Ford Employee, you can designate a finite amount of people as being eligible for the X-Plan.

I was assigned an X-Plan pin number by an employee and used it without any hassles what-so-ever ... so it does in fact work.

I have worked at Ford for the last 8 years and have issued over 25 pins, and have never had a problem with them. They give us X plan pins to help promote sales.
