Opinions on these sub enclosures

I was just wondering what the F150 community thought of these:

The first enclosure I built for myself. It houses a JL 10w3.

This one I built for a guy who lives down the street from me. He wanted to keep the stock arm rest. His houses 2 JL 12w6's.

looks like you did a great job but I prefer subs to be more enclosed and under the seat. I like it to look more stock than take up a good rear seat.

Those are awesome but do they have enough air space?

That is a pretty nice set up. The only thing that I would be worried about is that its in plain sight and might encourage break ins.

Yeah they're fine on airspace. I built the one with the single 10 right to JL's specs. The box actually extends a little under the rear seat to get all the airspace it needs. The one with the 2 12's is (if I remember correctly) is just slighty under the optimal amount of airspace required. The guy I built it for was far more concern with appearance then sound quality. So I built that one as close to spec as I could with still managing to get the look he wanted.
I know theyre not the most subtle boxes. I've done a lot of boxes under rear seats. I just wanted to try something new. I have a garage, alarm, and insurace so I dont worry about it too much.

I'd be afraid of poking a hole in those speakers, but I guess speaker cones are pretty durable these days...

Anarchy_Customs, do you work out of a shop in San Diego? If so, which one?

Yeah my friends 4 year old daughter decided to sit right on my sub the other day. It held up to it though.
The enclosure with the 2 subs actually has metal grills covering the subs. I just didnt have them on there when I took the pics.

Nope, no shop. The fiberglassing is just something I do in my spare time in my garage. Unfortunately with the cost of living down here being so high I have to have a "real" job.

Do you have one of these boxes in your truck? I'd like to check it out and hear how it sounds.
