Fake wood trim

I've had my truck for a little over a year now... and for about a year I've been sick of my fake wood trim (Lariat obviously). I was wondering if Lariat owners felt this way as well and had done something about it.

Can I just go buy panels from the dealer for a XLT with tan interior or Fx4 and switch them out or is there more to it than that?

thanks

bhf150 replaced his with the FX4 luxury packages carbon fiber trim (which now comes with elect. climate control). Looks a lot more sporty, but I love my wood trim, the 05+ wood trim is a different hue, looks more bergundy than the 04's...which I do not like.

I have the 05 wood and really like it. I ordered some wood OEM matching panels for the window controls and a wood and leather steering wheel.

I'll do a write up and post pictures later this weekend.

I like the 'updated' wood grain. I couldn't stand the 04 color and I always wanted to get the 05+ wood grain. I just got a new truck instead!

I'd like to see that carbon fiber package... thats kinda what I was thinking about. Just wasn't sure how easy it'd be to do.

Is bhf150 still around... I looked at his gallery and he didn't have any pics of the interior in it.

He heads out to our Pismo meets, checks the forum but not religiously. Make a post with his name in the title so he checks it. Can you order replacement 04 wood or are you sol...reminds me of the tacky wood trim in jag's. At least they give us more options when updating as not everyone agrees on whats tacky...up to you. Same goes for rect. and circle fogs, I prefer the 06's in this case.

I agree with you on the 04 vs 05+... 04 looks much better. Mine just looks too reddish/orange. Still not my fav look though.....

Maybe I should have waited and found a Fx4 with the options I wanted. This was kinda an impulse buy. Sort of like a snickers bar, but with 4 wheel drive and leather.

I don't like the carbon look.

I've heard the LTs are real wood (don't know if it is true). Why not get them?

I didn't care for the wood either. It didn't go with the black interior. I went to Pep Boys and bought Carbon Fiber sheets that I stuck on the center trim.
For it being a tape it really doesn't look bad. You can see some wood on the edge and there are a few spots we didnt do to well on. Also did the door panels.

I remember that, haha. Keith, why didn't you make it to this pismo meet. It was a blast! Hope you make it to the next. What's the deal with the aircraft in the sig? (have I asked you this before) Btw, it actually doesn't look all that bad, just need to get those edges fixed and it'd look perfect.

I had some things I had to take care of that weekend. I work on aircraft in the Navy, thats where that came from. The "film" was actually pretty easy to put on. Just used a hair dryer to heat it a bit to make it easier to move around.
