Hopefully I will be getting a black 06 f150 fx4 supercab flareside tomorrow if everything works out. I just wanted to know what some of the specs are on the truck such as 0-60 and 1/4mile time. I know these trucks arent made for that but i am just curious. Also has anyone installed a side exhaust on these trucks? I see one on streetfire.net but just didn't know what people on here think about it. thanks a i am sure i will learn a lot here.

 

0-60 times are poor at best... I don't know what they are stock but, don't expect much. Ford tunes these trucks out the door in a VERY generic manner that yields poor throttle response and a sluggish feel often times. This is done to compensate for the HUGE array of driving conditions that we, as owners, face on a daily basis and across the USA.

To combat this 'sluggish' feeling, many people have gone with tuning with devices such as the Edge or the Xcalibrator with custom tuning specifically for your driving styles/conditions. The custom tunes, in my opinion, are the best bet but, you'll hear a huge array of opinions on that...

As for exhaust systems... definitely try searching this forum on that one. You're going to find a PLETHORA of information. Personally, I have a Magnaflow SISO (single in, single out) system with side exit (looks stock with much better sound and performance). thanks, but i meant side exhaust like the lightning has. Today i am either getting the 06 fx4 or an 03 lightning. which one should i go for in your guys opinion. thanks a lot

 

Magnaflow makes a side exit exhaust for 04-06 F150s,similar to the Lightning exhaust.
As for you decision FX4 or Lightning... That is a tough one,both trucks are intended for completely different purposes.What are your needs and/or expectations from a truck?
