2007 Navigation System Part Number

I'm looking into the new navigation system and I want to shop around.

I have one source who appears very knowledgeable about it but wants $1500 for the unit. I've got to do some comparative shopping first. I've seen them on ebay for much less but I don't trust ebay for such things.

Anyone know the part number for the HU and the GPS antenna?

Thanks in advance.

Why would you spend 1,500 on the ford factory system when you can get the AVIC-Z1 (which blows the factory system away) for the same price???

. . or an Eclipse AVN 5435 which would be cheaper, since they lowered their prices!

I thought Pioneer made it or is visteon not the manufacturer?

I think visteon is the retailer as you can't buy OEM equipment directly from Pioneer.

I would look into it but I think you can run the rear entertainment unit with a Z1. It requires a aftermarket harness to do. It interfaces with the OEM rear entertainment harness.

It's worth spending time looking into because the aftermarket HUs have SO many more features then OEM and the ability to be bypassed so you can use them while moving and not just at a stand still.

For the nav head unit itself, it's about $2300 or so. There's an add on system that's like $1000 that sits in the little tray above the center stack and has a small LCD monitor for navigation functions. They are shipped directly from the vender, Visteon.

Ford also changed the rear seat entertainment center in 2007. You might want to check if the navigation system will work with the old style entertainment center.

Ramb I was under the impression that Brand motion was actually selling yet.

I've emailed them several times with no responses on options.

Z1? What is that? I'm assuming it is a specific HU but I'm not familiar with it. If I could get something that worked with the Audiophile amp and rear seat DVD will giving me steering wheel controls I'd do it in a heartbeat.

EDIT - I guess you meant this one, AVIC-Z1, mentioned above....duh....
