Everyone with custom front bumpers...

Ive ben wanting a new front bumper.. but I got some questions..
I know there are a few brands that make em..

Street Scene, Rousch, GT (DG motorsports), ect..

For the guys that actually own one, what kind is it and is it a bumper cover, or does it replace the chrome (ie. remove chrome bumper completly and have a new bumper).

I want one that is a new front bumper as to lose a few lbs up front.
I "think" the Rousch chin spoiler/bumper is a replacement... Anyone know for sure...

If so, how much weight do you actually think you saved by replaceing the front chrome bumper? Maybe 30 lbs?

How heavy is the front and/or rear bumpers? 30lbs?

Sm[]kin.. chime in here.. you got all new parts on your truck and I'm pretty sure you installed them all yourself.

The Roush chin spoiler just replaces the lower valance and uses the stock front bumper. A chrome front bumper shell weights in around 35 lbs by it self add another 30-40lbs for the mounting brackets. The DG motorsports bumper cover goes over the exisitng bumper but you will cut out a section of the stock bumper to fit the wide mouth opening( basically the whole center section between the frame mounting brackets). I think if you go to stylin concepts they have the installation instructions for the DG motorsports bumper cover. http://www.stylinconcepts.com/part.a.../categoryid/25 click on the instruction tab.

I agree Thumper.
Cervinis isnt always the best. I also bought some parts from them a few years ago that were suppost to be "Light prep work" to get them ready.
Needless to say, I hope thier molding work improoved since then. Their kits are not always the best quality from what I have seen and you have to spend a ton of time prepping them.
Maybe other people have had better experiences but all of mine sucked.
Be prepared to wet sand quite a bit when you buy from them!

I can confirm the Roush is just the lower portion that comes black plastic stock. You can see it in my sig...

I had to trade my chrome bumpers for painted ones to make it work.
