Question Side Window Deflectors

Looking at the Weather Tech side window deflectors that fit inside the window track. Anybody have any problems with the window seal or damage to the power window fitting up against the deflector ?

It seems the inside track will hold up better than the tape on type.

I have an 05 Scab

Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks

What do these do, just deflect wind? That's why I roll down my window in the first place.

Weather Tech channel deflectors fit like a dream and look a lot better than those cheesy stick on types.

Go ahead . . . you'll wonder why you waited so long!

I've had both on different vehciles. I had the in-channel ones on my Nissan Sentra. I never had a problem with them, but it does place the window slightly off track when completely rolled up. One of the only reasons that I noticed was because my windows were tinted. Over time, that window being off track like that could possibly do damage to window seals, the inside tracks, or even possibly the motor. I now have the ones that stick on around the windows. I would recommend the stick on types just to prevent any damage to you window unit. Then again that is completely up to you. Also if you smoke, you will get more clearance (meaning distance between the window and the deflector) from the stick on types than the in-channel ones as well. Just my two cents.

Avs

I've got the AVS stick-on kind and I don't think they look cheesy at all. I like 'em. I've used the in-channel type before and had problems with the windows sealing, wind noise, leaking, and breaking. What I really don't like is the idea of the extra tension that is put on the window system. It can't be good for power windows.

I've got WT on my '06 Scab....they're great.....It did take a week or so for the window to conform. When I raised my window, I'd see and hear a "thud". I was worried this would continue...however, it stopped and now it works great...IMO they look much better than the peel and stick type and are made of thicker material than the other brands....I opted for the darker tint over the lighter because my hood has the FMC's F150 bug deflector and the darker tint matches...However, the owner of the store where I bought my WTs had the lighter tinted style and painted them to match his truck....just another option....
