Maaco Paint problems RESOLVED...Here's my plan

Allright, for those that have read my last posts.......very long story short, the situation has been resolved. After all that had happened they were very fortunate is all i wanted was my money back. My attourney told me I could have gotten substantially more, but it would have taken longer and I don't want the hassle.

So here's the plan and a couple questions. I've done my homework this time and am shelling out the dough for who I think is the best in the area. I found a nice little custom shop. Owner took over an 2 hours to talk things over with me and even painted a piece of sheet metal with what I'm considering so i could see it on something b4 commiting, I'll post pics tomorrow of it. He showed me some of his current projects and cars that have made it to mags, I feel real confident this time around.

The Truck will be getting shot in 2006 Cadillac Escalade Pearl white. Followed by three heavy coats of PPG Blue Pearl and Lots of clear. Should give it the effect of shimmering water. A very dramatic effect when you're looking at the truck but at the same time not too loud, like a hugger orange with yellow flake...lol...

Painted items.....front upper and lower grill, front valance, fender flares, the rear plastic step piece (on rear bumper), mirrors, the plastic trim running from side to side in between the hood and windshield (where the wipers are), and the pillars in the center of the doors.

but a question, I need to make a decision in the next day or two, I've just started doing research on flares, truck goes in on saturday so I'll need to order em up.....

What are all my choices/ what do you guys think I should go with? I'm aware of the bushwacker and xenon, any others that look cool? I've never seen any in person, whatya guys think?

I think ATS makes a really low profile one. more for looks than functionality. What does your truck look like now?

Go with the Bushwacker Pocket Flares!

I can't wait to see the finished product.

oh yeah, I'm going to have to bring her up an additional couple of inches with a body lift.....I have had her rub once or twice in her current set up (procomp coil over 6in).....can't risk rubbing that new paint...

It sounds like you've got the situation nailed. I'm glad to hear that you're getting your truck done by someone with a good reputation this time Can't wait to see it.

Here's the two sample pieces of sheet metal my guy sprayed real quick to give me an idea of what the finished product will look like. They do absolutely no justice to what it looks like, from the pics you can see the ppg blue pearl, but can't really see the effect, It doesn't change the cadillac pearl color underneath at all, but shines a shimmering blue on all rounded/ angled places and pieces. When the whole truck is painted I should be able to better show you guys what the paint does.
In addition to the afformentioned I'm having the exhaust powdercoated and alot of the visible metal parts in the fenderwell areas front and back either painted/powdercoated black to give a nice uniform finish. There's also a new technique that he's going to be using. He actually mixes rhino lining with the same paint used from the outside and will use that on the bed caps and the plastic cover on the rear bumper...it will be tough as nails and blend perfectly with the rest of the vehicle.
