if you run the Edge, you can monitor it, not to mention improve it. my highway mileage was anywhere between 19 and 20 mpg. the stopping is what gets you. the trucks are very heavy, and it takes a lot to get them up to speed. I'll watch my mileage between stoplights around 2.2-6 mpg, while on the highway, at 75 it'll be up at 26 mpg (realtime, not average).
