Power Window Electrical Help
Hey Folks,
I installed my power windows in my 2006 f150 last february. I havent had any problems with it, until I left for military training. Up until that point I had driven my truck every day. After I left, it had only been driven about once every week. It turns out the way I had wired the windows up was draining the battery, and causing it to die after sitting for a week or more. I had gotten the wiring suggestion by someone on one of the F150 forums (they suggested to run the main wire to the battery from the switches, and ground the other wire on metal. ) The windows function fine, except for the drain on battery. Is there anyone here who knows a better way (preferably not too expensive) of rewiring the window set up (i would have fused that wire into the ignition wire, but I cannot find/read the 2006 f150 wiring diagram)
Thanks for any help!!
Alex

I can help, you'll need to remove the wire you have running to the battery.
Take that wire and run it under the steering column, remove the knee plate, and find the BLACK/LIGHT GREEN wire.
This wire powers the F-150's accessory/blower. Use this wire, as the circuit opens when the key is removed or off.
You can do it!
