Opinions...thinking about painting bumpers

I found a guy to strip/powdercoat my bumpers Black for $150 total. Going to keep the 18's (BFG AT ko's in 305/65 18 next month...woo hoo) But afraid all black will take away from it not sure (no offense to those of us who are currently blacked out). Just think that the chrome makes the front end seem narrower than it is. What do you think?

I think the chrome looks nice and breaks it up a little, total monochrome dark colored vehicles look kind of dull to me...

I went all painted on my truck, but if I had black I would keep the chrome. It's a great contrast. Look for pics of RAMMS/T's truck...perfect example of BLACK and CHROME living in beautiful harmony

All black looks great.....

just don't do black rims too. It makes a vehicle look as though the hub caps are missing or there is a years worth of caked on brake dust.

I painted my bumpers and I personally like it better. Here is a pic of an all black truck on 24"s

I'm wondering if a black powder coat finish would even match the color and finish of your truck? I'd hate for you to spend all that dough to cover up your chrome and then not have it match!

I'm the last person who would say this; Keep the Chrome.

All black. . I would have him put an extra coat on the front to combat rock chips. You don't want the chrome showing through tiny chips in the paint.

Keep the chrome. A month after you have them painted, you will ask yourself why. Especially with all the stone chips. I wish I had chrome on mine.

For $150 I'd do it tomorrow. I think the powder coat would hold up pretty good. I've got a black bumper in my basement that I have no clue what I'm going to do with it. Either find a black rear, or find any color rear and have them PTM which I was quoted $200 each from a highly recommended shop. I started out thinking black would look ok, but now I'm not so sure.

I am partial to the chrome myself. Its easy to clean and I dont care if the nasty bugs are all over it. Its easy to power wash. Its also shiny like my paint.
