Man i would hate to be on vacation or towing something away from home and have my truck take a dump because of a tuner. Just be thankful it was in your own driveway.

My guess would be that it only happens during flashing processes. The likelyhood of any tuner screwing up once its installed and the truck has run it pretty small.

I know, but alot of people keep them plugged in with the pod on the dash and if it gets unplugged accidentaly while it's running or something. Just sounds too risky for me. I would hate to pay the dealer to fix it if i was out of town or something.

Unplugging it is not supposed to affect the tune, it just blanks out the monitor. Supposedly. You are supposed to be able to load a program and run it without the monitor if you wish.

That's a good point...I keep forgetting the Edge can stay plugged in. You probably are right.

Well hopefully they will get it figured out for him and all of the other issues. I like the idea of the new edge with gps, but i surely won't buy one right away. It's just like anything that is new, your gonna have bugs...

What would happen if you were to unplug the unit while the engine was running?

What about plugging it back in, with the engine running?

Anybody try it?

Done it a few times, no prob's. I had one hiccup loading a tune after taking it in to the dealer for a recall. Like 04ProcompLariat, I cleared the DTC and returned it to stock. As a "better safe than sorry" move I then disconnected the battery for about a half hour to make sure it was not running any errant code, reloaded the Edge and it has been fine since.

Good luck getting everything worked out. Hate to say it put stuff happens, regardless of the brand name.

Yea, I'd like an update.

Would also like some more details as to what he was doing to the truck at the time.

Was the truck running when he unplugged it?

Was the ignition on, truck not running?

If the engine and ignition were off when he unplugged it, and plugged it back in, I just don't see how that would have effected the EDGE.

I Can see the possibility of a problem if the ignition was on, as that's a step in the programing. Maybe listening to the stereo?

It would just be good info for the rest of us.
