Seat lifts
Seat lifts
How do they work?? I Know it adds a spacer under the main support but what about the bracket that is behind the seat what does it do with that? also what about that steel rail with the loops on it does that stay in the same place or what. Does anyone have some pictures of what goes on behind the seat back with a seat lift?
The kit from LMI Welding only lifts the seat bottom. It does nothing to the seat back. It works good in my opinion. The only downside is people who are very tall might hit there heads on the roof while seated. But it provides quite a bit more room under the seat.

its not that hard u just need to be careful with the back corner bolts cause those are body mounts.

Here's scanned copies of LMI's installation instructions:

I'll get some pictures of the brackets taken and posted here later tonight.

It was not real difficult. Some of the brackets do not line up perfectly but, the fit is pretty good and it does a nice job. Brypink has some good pics of his installed in his gallery. He too had a few alignment problems but, nothing that had to be altered or anything.
In retrospect...after installing the kit, those instructions suck.
Do yourself a favor and go buy some large fender washers ahead of time. Luckily I happened to have 4 of them lying around, otherwise I would have been shut down.
Also, one thing that wasn't clear in the instructions (at least to me) is that the lift bracket goes under the center support. I failed to catch this until I tried to re-install my seat and found that it was off by two inches...

pricey...
Is it just me, or does $140 seem like alot for four metal brackets? Or is there more to the kit.
Nice idea...I have a DUHA on the way (also pricey I guess) so I don't think I would like it for my truck, but I see the attraction
Just not the price...
