Edge Voltmeter Question...

What are your amps at, using the Edge?

Mine is
Start-up= 12.3
10 sec after= 13.6
Normal driving= 13.9

Driving with Lights, Fogs, LCD HU, two rear 6 inch screens, 13.4.

Does this sound normal.......It used to hang out around 14.1-14.2, but not in a few months....

Thanks

14.1 - 14.2 during the day without headlights and fogs on, 13.9 at night with them on. I alway's keep an eye on this since I installed my amps.

Usually about 13.9 at start up, within a few seconds it settles at 14.1. At night with the lights and fogs on, it may drop to 13.9 again.

I would get your battery checked out to see if its pulling down the the alternators output. How olds the battery? Now you maybe fine just like it is for who knows how long. I would get it checked just to be sure.

The truck is about 16 months old.....I trickle charged it overnight, it was 14.1 again....I will keep an eye on it, optima Yellow top maybe.

I also tow a trailer 10 times per year...that may help drain the battery as well...but I thought it should recharge itself.

Try going nad have your alternator checked. I sure its okay. Pulling a trailer should not make any difference to battery. Its main job is to state the truck and pick up any sudden current demands. The truck should run with out the battery once it is started and running. The alternatro puts out enough voltage and current to power and recharge the battery. I use to have a very demanding audio system years ago and on night drained the battery. I had to leave the car running if we stopped any where.

Anyway I don't think you have a problem with the charging system but if it gets real low I usually find the battery not taking a charge. I needs to be recharged or replaced.
