I need som radio cd player help
I just bought a 6 disc in dash mp3 player factory unit to replace my single cd unit. I got the 6 disc unit with the amp outputs and the satellite radio outputs in case I ever decide to add it later. I went to install it and my antenna cord does not match the 6 disc unit. Mine is the standard antenna plug. I bought the 6 disc unit off of ebay. Does the pics below look like an old antenna plug came apart and part of it stuck in the radio or does it have a different plug? Please help.

Ford changed the hookup on some 06 models. This head unit is probably not an F150, but one of the other cars that use this style radio.
I had the same kind of thing you are looking at on a unit I got for someone.
The center piece does NOT pull out. Looks like it does, but no dice.
I pulled the unit apart and inspected it. It's a new style.
There may be an adaptor for it, but I could not find one, or anyone that had ever seen one. So I took a female end, like you would find on an older style radio or on an antenna extension, cut it at about six inches and installed it like you would a replacement wire. That is, strip the center single wire, and loosen the copper shielding/ground, then pressed it hard onto the center part. This is how you junction coax or Cat 5 cable, all of which requires a much better connection than AM/FM signals.
I then used a wire tie to secure the extra length to the radio, so anyone tugging at the lead would not tear it loose.
It works; I tested it and could find no degradation in signal to radio.
Of course this solution only cost about two bucks so most won't want to use it.
Hopefully Ford will start selling an adaptor.
Local Ford parts place says it doesn't exist, Power Ford found a reference to the new antenna which uses this connection but didn't have a part number. Your local Ford shop may be some help.

Nope, my 06 has Sirius and the antenna for FM is a normal plug in style antenna. The Sirius is wired into the harness.

the Chrysler attenna adapter is definately the right part - your HU probably came out of a Fusion or Explorer, which has a different attenna than the F150. Go to Best Buy or similar and it should be around $10 or less...
