e-fan help

I was wondering if anyone can figure out what is wrong with my e-fans. I bought the double 16 inch with 2 controllers a few months ago and followed the advice of the company where I got them to install. They both kept blowing fuses as soon as the truck turned on. I traced all the wires, put new fuse holders in on the power side insted of the fan side of the controller. The company I bought them from said bad controllers, he sent out new ones. I installed them and both the fuses blow on those also. I have the power wires attached to the battery, the negative of the controller going to ground, the orange of the controller going to the fan, the ground of the fans going to the same ground as the controllers. No splicing of wires except for the grounds coming from fans. I have the a/c wire of one of the controllers goint to the A/C power wire. I have the a/c wire of the other controller going to a switch in the cab to turn it on manually. I have the ignition wires run to a fuse in the cab. I am confused, I think the fans are drawing to much on startup and that is why I am blowing fuses but am not sure. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

I know that Mike T. provides a 30/40 amp fuse so that the initial surge when they turn on does not do what yours is doing...

I bought some 30 amp breakers thinking that would help. They are getting very hot and stopped working. Also, one of my fans locked up, very hard to turn. I have another one coming.

I would just rewire the whole thing and take out the switch to make sure you have it right just to check. One of your switches might be bad too, I hate to ask but where did you get the fans? PM me if you dont want to post

Those cheapo troyer controllers have melted on myself, bushtree's, etc's fuse holders and fuses and the controllers themselves are infamous for breaking (the temperature control pots). Be careful, it appears to have caught fire slightly.

Yes FX4 MATT, That is how I have the fan wires run. No splicing of wires, no crossed wires. I have a call into TorqFlo to see if they can help. They are the builders of the controllers.

I did notice that the one fan motor that does work is VERY hot. I am thinking bad fans. I put another one in to replace the one that seized up and will see how that works. Of course it is 98 degrees here and I am dripping sweat at 8 A.M.

I had another e-fan sitting that was suppose to go in a Mustang. I put that in and wired it up and it works fine so far. I am thinking it is the fan motors.

I am having the same problem with my fans. Blown fuses and/or melted fuse holders. I have installed a second set of controllers and am experiencing the same problems. I am positive that all connections are set up correctly. The vendor has been great working with me and just last night I recieved another whole kit including fans and controllers. I am going to start over from scratch today and see what happens. Will keep you posted.
