I'm having an odd problem with my right hand turn signal. It's been fine up till last week when I went to turn right and used the signal I got a strange sound coming from the dash or steering column area. Kind of like not too loud screeching sound that is somewhat erratic. When that happens the turn signal will not work. It only happend once then went away until this morning when it was doing it again - same type of sound. Never had a problem with a turn signal in a car before that wasn't caused by a bad bulb. Any ideas? I'm not really sure what causes the turn signal to blink on and off but maybe what ever that is, is the problem.

 

Probably a bad flasher, it's located under the dash almost directly below the column

 

Do you happen to have LED taillights or blinkers? If so your resistor may be going bad. I had the APC tails and my left blinker was doing the same thing as your described. I changed the lights out with my stockers and now my blinker works fine.
