BedRug Install

Received my new BedRug early this week, and finally got around to putting it in yesterday. A couple quick observations:

-This was MUCH easier with a second person, than it would have been by myself.
-Pulling the factory plastic liner our was quite the pain, but was much easier with the second person.
-The directions that came with the BedRug were pretty good, with the pictures being helpful.
-I was a little skeptical of the "Industrial strength velcro" holding it in place, but it appears to be a great job. It isn't "permanent permanent", but it would be a huge pain to pull it out, and doesn't look like it'll move much.

This was a project I had been looking at for some time, and so far, I am definitely happy I pulled the trigger. It looks and feels great.

I added a couple of pictures to my gallery (That is my English Bulldog puppy in a couple of them). I am definitely looking forward to having a more "tailgating friendly" truck now!

I had one in my Lightning. Install of the rug itself was not bad for me and I was solo but a extra set of hands is definantly a plus. Congrats, watch the rug burns or should I say the "Bedrug" burns

Red face Creased bed rug

I received my Bedrug this week, when I unpacked it, the three sided piece was folded all wacko. Now I have two huge creases in the 2 sides, and I doubt if they will work out on the install. Did anyone else have that problem. Why didn't the factory just fold the 2 sides over the center and pack it that way??? Then just roll it inside the bed piece and all would have been ok.
If the creases don't work out, and I can see them after installation, I'm going to ask for a replacement. I ordered from truck Alterations, but it's too hot to install it yet.

Where is your gallery? The velcro keeps falling off so it's definitely not permanent, mud doesn't help but I've replaced it about 5 times in different areas...I can't stand it.

Since you have an abundance of heat and sun right now, set the entire piece out in the sun for a couple hours, laying as flat as possible. The real bad creases might require you to wet them down a little, but they will work out.

As for replacing the velcro, taking an alcohol swab or 3M Adhesive Cleaner to the spot where the velcro will be going makes the adhesive stick really well. You will want the metal to be relatively cool-out of the sun, into the 70' range if possible.
