06 with 07 parts?

Ok Guys once again I turn to the f150 community for help. Yesterday I traded off my 05 4.6 Stx for a 06 xlt 5.4. VERY HAPPY! Today I went to put all my aftermarket cd player stuff in that I took out of my other f150 and here I am pulling everything out and there it is, different FM connector almost like a connector on a Sirius satellite radio. This truck was made not even a month ago, and it was on the lot less than three days. Could I have got some 07 parts in a 06? What is the deal here? Also my install kit for a 04/06 f150 doesn't fit. It will bolt in but there is a huge gap between the install kit and the factor dash trim. Its wide enough but isn't deep enough to be flush with the dash. When I say its a gap I mean I can almost stick my finger between the top of the install kit and the factory dash trim.

Mid-to-late year changes? Never happens!?! Try being in the parts business. GM is the worst for that but Ford isn't far behind.

I had a 1996 Ranger that was built with 1997 parts, found that out when i replaced the front disc's. The 1996 i got would not fit.

Possible mid-year change or experimental parts. It's not uncommon to run 10 vehicles with new parts, go back to old parts for a couple of days, run a day or two of the new parts, then try to run the old inventory out before going back to the new parts. We did that for heater pumps recently on the '07 Quest when I was on the engine dress line for part of my salary operations orientation (basically work on the line for 2-3 weeks). All manufacturers do it.

Eureka!!!!!!!!! I have found a solution to my little problem. After a few minutes of looking in a local stereo shop I found the adapter to fit my FM plug to a regular FM plug. A 2002 and up Chrysler FM adapter fits my style FM Plug SOOOOO I would assume anyone buying a 07 and putting in an aftermarket stereo better plan on getting a 2002 up plug for a dodge product. Still haven't found a solution to my dash kit not fitting right in the factory stereo hole. Any ideas?
